5 Ceremony Planning Steps
Step 1: We meet or make first contact first either in person, by Skype or email. I'll introduce myself and explain the focus of my role for the wedding ceremony, which is to ensure the ceremony looks and sounds the way it's envisioned and, perhaps most important, that both partners truly enjoy the moment.
Step 2: During the first meeting, I encourage the couple to share as many ideas and input as possible to ensure I can help craft the uniqueness of their ceremony. Couples often have ideas about some of the words they want to use for their vows, song lyrics which represent love to them or a certain rituals they might want to perform. All details will be collected.
Step 3: I will then provide couples with a framework to support the flow and sequence of their ceremony and its happenings from start to finish. To assist, I offer a range of potential vows, blessings, readings, poem samples and suggestions from experience for couples consider.
Step 4: Following the initial meeting, planning proceeds via email or Skype calls until vows, blessings, readings, rituals and all other ceremony happenings are settled and the couple is happy with the flow and content of their ceremony. Planner and ceremony script are prepared and revised at this stage.
Step 5: Finally, I schedule a ceremony rehearsal with the couple and active participants to review any final logistical bits before the ceremony. This is often the evening before the day. Day of, I meet with couples briefly to offer some final pre-ceremony words to calm nerves and reassure.
